Students from the program Northeastern Students 4 Good (NS4G) had a chance to compete in a video contest that profiles particularly strong programs in Boston. As a previously funded program, Smart from the Start was selected as an ideal community organization to profile. Students created a 3 minute video on the strengths of the Smart from the Start.

2012-2013 Smart from the Start Family Leadership Team is a cohort of parents and caregivers with amazing strengths and resiliencies who have demonstrated outstanding personal achievement, participation in the program, and leadership in their communities.

The focus of the Community Unity event is to remind people that talk is cheap (it’s free!) and that the value of talking to young children to improve language and literacy development, self-esteem and family relationships is priceless. By developing relationships with community businesses, Smart from the Start’s goal is to make everywhere low-income families do business, a place that young children can develop school readiness skills.

This video was showcased at our first annual Sharing Our Vision Fundraiser to share our mission, our vision and our goals!
