Restoring The Village

This year, Smart from the Start is celebrating our fifth birthday, and just like the young kindergarteners we nurture, we are looking forward to exciting new adventures, achievements and a bright and promising future!

Smart from the Start hosted our annual fundraiser and birthday celebration titled, “Restoring the Village” Celebrating 5 Years of Educating, Empowering and Uplifting for our Children’s Future at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama on June 13, 2013.

U.S. Senator Scott Brown and former State Treasurer Shannon O’Brien were the Honorary Co-Chairs for the event.  We were thrilled to have Kimberly Bookman from WCVB TV News Channel 5  as the evening’s emcee and esteemed business leader Lee Joseph from Easy Chairs, Cambridge, as our live auctioneer.

The event included a silent auction along with a live auction, music and many program highlights. Guests could explore each of the 7 neighborhoods that Smart from the Start serves and taste signature dishes from Community Unity restaurant partners while talking to Smart staff and families.
